Dr Wells Clinic

Polynucleotides are a novel and exciting new treatment option within medical aesthetics. They were developed to be used within the field of regenerative medicine for their effects in promoting wound healing in surgical specialties.

They work by directly stimulating the fibroblast cells (the cells in the body responsible for producing collagen and elastin) in addition to stimulating growth factors and cells responsible for improved circulation and new blood vessel generation.

One of the areas they have revolutionised is treating the under eye area as this was previously an area with limited options for those unsuitable to tear trough filler.

This treatment improves under eye skin quality (reducing laxity and creepy skin), reduces hyperpigmentation and brightens the under eye area.

Please note that polynucleotides are derived from fish products and therefore are not suitable for those with a fish allergy, vegetarian or vegans.

This treatment must be done as part of a course of 2-3 sessions 2-4 weeks apart. Maintenance requires repeat treatments every 6 months.

Dr Wells Clinic

Profhilo is a highly concentrated form of pure hyaluronic acid, by treating the five bioaesthetic points of the lower face with profhilo has 2 key actions.

Firstly, restoration of hyaluronic acid within the fatty layer of the skin promotes hydration giving a 'glow' and healthier looking skin.

Secondly the high concentration of hyaluronic acid that is injected has a stimulatory effect on the fibroblast cells that produce the essential collagen and elastin - this helps to treat skin laxity and gives a firmer, tigher feel to the skin.

This treatment must be done as part of a course of 2-3 sessions ~4 weeks apart. Maintainence requires repeat treatments every 6 months.

Dr Wells Clinic
